Armed robbers looted more than Rs1.15 million from the staff of the Peoples Bus Service in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Hadeed, holding them at gunpoint in a late-night attack.

According to driver Sher Jan, the robbery took place at the last stop of the bus service, where he and other employees were resting. Six assailants arrived in a vehicle, with two staying inside while four entered the premises. One of them wore a mask.

The armed men forced the crew inside a bus, where the cashier and a transport officer were seated. “They held us at gunpoint and demanded cash,” Sher Jan told police, adding that the robbers also seized a security guard’s weapon and mobile phone before fleeing.

The suspects escaped with Rs11.5 million in cash, raising serious concerns over security at public transport hubs.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir confirmed that an investigation is underway. “We have gathered evidence from the scene, and a case has been registered. The suspects will be tracked down soon,” he said.

The incident has sparked alarm among transport workers, who are now calling for stricter security measures at bus terminals, particularly during late hours.

Last week, armed robbers struck in Karachi's Landhi area, targeting citizens buying milk for Sehri.

CCTV footage captured the robbers using weapons to loot mobile phones, cash, and other valuables, according to Express News.

The incident occurred at a milk shop in Landhi No. 2 Model Park, with three armed robbers storming the shop and robbing the customers. The robbers, who appeared to have planned the attack, were seen on camera holding up the customers and taking their possessions.

Despite the presence of several people at the shop, the robbers managed to escape without facing any resistance.

The CCTV footage, which has now gone viral, clearly shows the robbers taking their time while looting the citizens, and then calmly walking away after the crime. The police responded promptly to the robbery report and arrived at the scene shortly afterward.

With the help of the CCTV footage, the police have managed to get a clear view of the robbers' faces, and investigations are underway to track down the criminals. The authorities have contacted the victims, who are being asked to visit the police station to file formal complaints.
