Celebrity chef Jameson Stocks, who recently criticized Meghan Markle’s Netflix show With Love, Meghan, revealed that his remarks have led to death threats.
As per The Newyork post the 41-year-old chef expressed shock at receiving the threats, emphasizing that he never intended to personally attack Markle. “I’ve not gone in on somebody personally,” he said, explaining that his criticism was solely aimed at the show itself.
Stocks, known for his role as a celebrity chef, shared his opinion about the Duchess of Sussex’s lifestyle series during an appearance on GB News last Saturday, where he called the show “terrible” and noted that it was “quite lethargic” and “painful to watch.” He also suggested Markle should return to acting, something he believes she does well. “People should stick to what they do best,” he added.
Despite the backlash, Stocks made it clear that he holds no personal animosity towards Markle, stating, “I have nothing against Meghan Markle.” He explained that his only issue was with the show, not the Duchess herself, and emphasized that his criticism would have been the same regardless of who was involved.
Stocks also recounted a meeting with Netflix executives in early 2024, where they casually discussed the possibility of his involvement in a lifestyle program. Although he was aware it was for Markle’s show, he later declined the offer, citing his desire to focus on his children in the UK.
A Netflix production source, however, contradicted Stocks’ account, stating that With Love, Meghan was not in development at the time of his meeting with Netflix and that he was never invited to participate in the show.
