Mohammad Yousuf will join Pakistan’s squad for the white-ball tour of New Zealand after initially opting out due to his daughter’s illness, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, the PCB announced that Yousuf, the team’s batting consultant, had withdrawn from the tour to stay with his ailing daughter. However, just hours later, the board confirmed his participation after her condition improved.
“Doctors told me that my daughter's health is better now, so I'm going with the team,” Yousuf said. “Going with the team is a national duty that I have decided to fulfil.”
