Levi McConaughey, son of Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves McConaughey, made his red carpet debut on March 10 at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas.
The 16-year-old attended the premiere of his father’s new film, The Rivals of Amziah King, and spoke about his own upcoming acting debut in Way of the Warrior Kid.
During an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Levi shared the acting advice his Academy Award-winning father gave him. "No bulls--- in your bones and own what you're doing," Levi recalled, adding that Matthew encouraged him to commit to his choices in acting, whether right or wrong.
Matthew elaborated on his son's natural talent, advising him to understand his character's journey before and after each scene. He also encouraged Levi to take risks and not be afraid to go big in performances, explaining that it's easier to scale back than to add energy later.
Levi walked the red carpet with his parents, who proudly supported him. Camila Alves McConaughey was seen taking photos and videos of her son’s big moment.
Levi is the eldest of the McConaugheys' three children, alongside Vida, 14, and Livingston, 11. His acting debut in Way of the Warrior Kid was confirmed in September 2024, where he will star alongside Chris Pratt. Matthew was previously spotted visiting Levi on set as he prepared for his first film role.
