Beaconhouse National University on Thursday appointed Dr Tariq Rahman as dean of its School of Education. Dr Rahman will replace Prof Sabiha Mansoor who left recently to join the Lahore College for Women University as its new vice chancellor. Before taking the BNU assignment, he was serving as director of the National Institute of Pakistan Studies (NIPS) at the Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad. He was also a professor emeritus at NIPS. Dr Rahman is a Fulbright research scholar from the University of Texas at Austin, the DAAD visiting research fellow at the University of Heidelberg in Germany and a visiting fellow at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies. He has also taught in Denmark and Spain. Dr Rahman has authored several books and has contributed over 90 articles to various journals.
