Alysha Burney, YouTuber and TikTok star, dead at 25
Alysha Burney, a popular YouTuber and TikTok influencer known for her viral parody videos, tragically passed away on March 2 while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She was 25 years old. Burney’s brother, Charles Burney, confirmed the news, revealing that she died in her sleep. She had gained widespread recognition for her creative content, including popular series like "Online Classes Be Like" and "Podcasts Be Like," amassing millions of followers on both YouTube and TikTok.
In an emotional statement shared on Instagram on March 10, Charles expressed his deep sorrow and asked the public to respect his family's need for privacy during this difficult time. He also addressed the spread of false rumors about Alysha’s death, condemning them as defamatory and vowing legal action against those responsible. "It is extremely difficult seeing all of the false narratives trying to defame her legacy," he wrote, urging the public to cease the harassment and allow the family time to grieve.
Alysha, who launched her YouTube career in 2013, had over 1.2 million subscribers and more than 2.4 million followers on TikTok. Despite her success on social media, her brother revealed that she had bigger aspirations. Alysha’s lifelong goal was to become a writer and director, and she had planned to return to Kansas City to open a production studio. She hoped to help other young creatives from her hometown achieve their dreams.
Although her official cause of death has not been disclosed, her family has asked for patience as they navigate this heartbreaking loss. Charles concluded his statement by honoring his sister’s lasting impact, stating that her legacy would "live on forever."
