South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun has denied allegations of a past relationship with the late actress Kim Sae Ron, calling them “clear falsehoods.” His agency, Gold Medalist, announced potential legal action against those spreading the claims.
The accusations originated from the YouTube channel Garo-SEO Research Institute (Gaseyeon), which alleged that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron had a six-year relationship starting in 2015, when she was 15 and he was 27. The speculation resurfaced after Kim Sae Ron posted and deleted a selfie with Kim Soo Hyun on Instagram in March 2024.
In a statement issued on March 10, 2025, Gold Medalist refuted the claims, stating: “The allegations made by Gaseyeon are completely false. We are considering the strongest legal action.” The agency also addressed additional rumors, including claims of collusion with YouTuber Lee Jin-ho to harass Kim Sae Ron and mishandling of her 2022 DUI case, calling them baseless.
Expressing condolences over Kim Sae Ron’s passing on February 16, 2025, the agency condemned the spread of false information, likening it to cyberbullying. They urged the public and media to refrain from sharing unverified claims.
Kim Sae Ron was found unconscious at home by a friend and later pronounced dead at 25. Her passing has sparked widespread discussion in the entertainment industry.
