KHANPUR:

The employees of Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) staged a protest demonstration against the Khanpur assistant commissioner for forcibly stopping their school van and taking it to the police station.

The school van, which carries children of WAPDA employees to school, was stopped by the police on the orders of the Khanpur assistant commissioner. The children were forced to get out of the van, which was then taken to the police station.

The protest demonstration was attended by a large number of parents and children, who demanded justice and immediate restoration of the school van.

According to WAPDA Union official Fiaz Hassan, the Khanpur assistant commissioner had rented a bungalow at Khanpur Dam, but his electricity connection was disconnected by PESCO WAPDA due to outstanding bills. In retaliation, the assistant commissioner allegedly used police to stop the school van and take it to the police station. WAPDA employees claim that the assistant commissioner has also filed a false FIR against them, which has caused widespread anger and resentment among the employees and their families.

The protestors carried banners and posters condemning the injustice and demanding the restoration of the school van for WAPDA employees' children.
