Amanda Seyfried suggests that a sequel to the 2009 cult classic Jennifer’s Body could be in the works.
While speaking to Bloody Disgusting at the red carpet premiere of her new film Seven Veils, Seyfried hinted at the possibility of a follow-up. “I think we’re making another one,” she shared, although she stopped short of confirming the project. The original film, which starred Seyfried and Megan Fox, was initially a box office disappointment, but has since garnered a strong cult following over the years.
Diablo Cody, the screenwriter behind Jennifer’s Body, has expressed interest in revisiting the story. In a 2024 interview with Bloody Disgusting, Cody revealed that she isn’t done with the world of Jennifer’s Body. “I want to do a sequel,” she said, adding that finding the right partners and financial backing has been a challenge. The writer reflected on the film’s initial reception, noting that the fandom’s resurgence was a validation of her vision for the movie.
Megan Fox has also shown enthusiasm for the idea of a Jennifer’s Body sequel, suggesting it could be adapted into a TV series. With renewed interest in the film, it seems a sequel may become a reality sooner rather than later. However, as of now, there has been no official confirmation from the film’s team. Seyfried’s comments leave fans hopeful for another installment, but for now, the future of Jennifer’s Body remains uncertain.
