
George Lowe, the legendary voice behind Space Ghost Coast to Coast, passed away on March 2, 2025, at the age of 67.
His death was confirmed by a spokesperson for TVLine, following an announcement by his longtime friend “Marvelous” Marvin Boone on Facebook.
Lowe had been battling health issues for some time. In July 2023, Space Ghost Coast to Coast writer MC Chris revealed that the actor suffered from an aortic dissection that required intubation twice and had been receiving at-home care in Florida.
A graduate of the Radio Engineering Institute of Sarasota, Lowe began his career in the 1980s with voiceover work before securing the role of Space Ghost in Space Ghost Coast to Coast. The cult-favorite animated talk show, which featured celebrity guests and absurd humor, ran for over a decade and transitioned to Adult Swim. Lowe later reprised his role in Cartoon Planet (1995), Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters (2007), and the video game Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion (2011).
Beyond Space Ghost, Lowe’s voice acting credits included The Brak Show, Robot Chicken, Squidbillies, and American Dad.
Lowe’s distinctive voice and comedic timing left an indelible mark on animation, making him a beloved figure among fans and industry peers alike.
