Popular Twitch streamer and political commentator HasanAbi (Hasan Piker) has responded to his recent Twitch ban, addressing the controversy surrounding his remarks on Medicare fraud.

In a statement, he expressed regret over his choice of words, saying, "I'm sorry! I'll choose my words carefully next time."

HasanAbi had criticized House Speaker Mike Johnson for attempting to cut $800 million from Medicaid and Medicare, pointing out that if Johnson truly cared about Medicare fraud, he would advocate for the “max punishment” for Florida GOP Senator and former governor Rick Scott. Scott oversaw what remains the largest Medicare and Medicaid fraud case in U.S. history.

HasanAbi also took aim at conservative commentator Tim Pool, accusing him of "defending the wealthy robbing you blind" and labeling him "a bald partisan hack.” He accused Pool of hypocrisy, claiming that while Pool defends right-wing politicians slashing healthcare funding, he refuses to acknowledge their past corruption.

Following his ban, HasanAbi sarcastically applauded "right-wing free speech lovers" for prioritizing complaints about his statements while "screaming about DEI and immigrants."

The controversy has sparked debate on social media about free speech on Twitch and the platform’s moderation of political discourse. While some argue HasanAbi was unfairly banned, others claim his rhetoric violated Twitch’s policies.
