Missouri’s Armand Membou and Georgia’s Jared Wilson wrapped up Sunday’s NFL Scouting Combine workouts with standout performances, solidifying their positions as top prospects in April’s draft.
Wilson, a 6-foot-3, 310-pound center, stole the show in the final event, clocking an impressive 4.84 seconds in the 40-yard dash. That time made him only the second 300-pound lineman to break the 4.85-second barrier, joining Lane Johnson, who did so in 2013.
Membou, a 6-foot-4, 332-pound offensive tackle, entered the combine as the top-rated lineman, according to NFL.com, and he lived up to expectations.
He posted a 4.91-second 40-yard dash, the second-fastest among offensive linemen, while also leading his position group with a 9-foot-7 broad jump and tying for fourth with a 34-inch vertical.
LSU’s Will Campbell (6-6, 319 pounds) finished second in the broad jump at 9-5, matching Georgia guard Tate Ratledge. The two, along with Membou, are contenders to be the first offensive lineman selected in the draft.
North Dakota State’s Grey Zabel had the best vertical jump among linemen at 36 ½ inches, followed by Iowa State’s Jalen Travis (35 inches) and Oregon’s Josh Conerly Jr. (34 ½ inches).
Among skill position players, Michigan running back Donovan Edwards and Auburn’s Jarquez Hunter led the bench press, with Edwards managing 23 reps and Hunter finishing with 21.
Iowa State receiver Jaylin Noel led his position group with 23 reps, followed by TCU’s Jack Bech with 19. All quarterbacks opted out of the bench press.
The combine concludes Monday with the offensive linemen set to participate in the bench press, closing out a week of evaluations in Indianapolis.
