Sebastian Stan made a heartfelt statement at the 97th Academy Awards by bringing his mother, Georgeta Orlovschi, as his date to the ceremony. As photos of the mother-son duo at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles surfaced online, fans praised the actor’s gesture, with many calling it “adorable.”

Stan, who was nominated for Best Actor for his portrayal of a young Donald J. Trump in The Apprentice, spoke about his decision to bring his mother to the event. In an interview with ABC News on the red carpet, he recalled a childhood memory of visiting Los Angeles with her. “One of the first visits before we moved to America, we took a tour bus in Los Angeles, and we went by the Dolby Theater. I must have been like 10 or something like that,” he shared. “I want to share that moment with her. I owe her everything.”

His mother, equally moved by the occasion, shared her pride in an interview with E! News. “He works very hard and he deserves the best. I can't be more proud. He's adorable,” Orlovschi said.

Stan, who has been receiving widespread recognition for his performance in The Apprentice, previously thanked his mother and stepfather, Tony, in his Golden Globe acceptance speech earlier this year. Reflecting on their sacrifices, he said, “This is for my mom who left Romania in search of a better life, gave me everything, and for my stepfather, Tony, who took on a single mom and a grown-up kid.”

Fans flooded social media with praise, celebrating the touching tribute to his mother and the sacrifices behind his success, making this Oscars moment one of the most talked-about of the night.
