FAISALABAD:

Consultants of the German Development Bank KfW visited various departments of the Faisalabad Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) to review and discuss a potential project of 40 million euros for improving water supply and sanitation infrastructure in the city.

WASA Managing Director Amer Aziz directed the heads of all relevant departments to fully cooperate with the delegation to ensure a smooth assessment process.

He said the consultants were conducting a feasibility study to evaluate the project's potential and after approval of the final report, the KfW would initiate the project. During the visit, the KfW Senior Consultant John Sass inspected WASA's Customer Relations Center (CRC) where Deputy Director Zafar Iqbal Qadri briefed him about the free helpline 1334. He outlined how citizens' complaints are received and which steps are taken to address them.

The delegation also visited the Information Technology Department to review the billing system and other operations. It discussed with IT Deputy Director Tasawar Hussain improvements in the system.

The delegation toured the Geographic Information System (GIS) Department where Deputy Director Samreen Ashraf provided an overview of its role in WASA operations.A
