Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins have officially joined the cast of The Boys season 5, marking a much-anticipated Supernatural reunion with Jensen Ackles.
The Prime Video series, known for its satirical take on superheroes, is set to conclude with its upcoming season.
Showrunner Eric Kripke, who also created Supernatural, has long expressed his desire to bring Padalecki into The Boys universe. In a previous interview, Kripke teased that he was in discussions with Padalecki, emphasizing his preference for working with actors he trusts and admires.
While details about their roles remain undisclosed, Padalecki and Collins will appear as guest stars alongside Ackles, who portrays Soldier Boy. The Boys has previously featured other Supernatural alumni, including Jim Beaver (Robert Singer), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Joe Kessler), and Rob Benedict (Splinter), making the final season a nostalgic treat for fans.
Premiering in 2019, The Boys has been a massive hit for Prime Video, drawing critical acclaim for its dark humor, political satire, and intense action sequences. The series stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, and Giancarlo Esposito, among others.
Beyond The Boys, the franchise continues to expand with spinoffs like Gen V, which debuted in 2023 and has been renewed for a second season. Additionally, an animated series, The Boys Presents: Diabolical, and the upcoming Vought Rising—starring Padalecki—further solidify the show’s lasting impact.
With production underway, The Boys season 5 promises an explosive sendoff, packed with surprises for both longtime viewers and Supernatural fans.
