Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has vowed his side will not give up the Premier League title race, despite falling 11 points behind leaders Liverpool following a 1-0 defeat to West Ham.

The loss dealt a blow to Arsenal’s hopes, with Liverpool now on 63 points from 27 matches, while the Gunners have played one fewer game. With seven of their final 11 fixtures at Anfield, Arne Slot's side hold a favourable run-in, including a potentially decisive clash against Arsenal on matchday 36.

However, Arteta is not giving up hope. "Over my dead body," said the Arsenal manager when questioned about not giving up on the title.

"Mathematically, it is possible," he said. "Three days ago, we were one and a half games away. The difficulty is higher now, but if you are going to win the Premier League, you have to do something special."

Arsenal’s challenge is further complicated by injuries to key players. Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus have been ruled out for the season, while Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka are expected to return within the next month.

With 12 matches remaining, Arteta's side face an uphill task, but the Spaniard remains defiant. "If you are going to win the Premier League with the circumstances we have, you will probably have to do something that nobody else has done in the history of the Premier League," he added.

Arsenal will look to respond in their next fixture, which is away at the City Ground against surprise-top 4 challenges Nottingham Forest.
