Lawyers boycott courts over SSP's return

The backlog of cases at the Hyderabad district courts as well as Sindh High Court Hyderabad Bench swelled over the weekend as the lawyers staged a boycott of court proceedings on the return of beleaguered SSP Farrukh Ali Lanjar.

The boycott was expected to continue on Monday causing emense hardship for the litigants as well as families of the uinmates who come from far away to have a brief meeting dueing their court appearance.

The black coats have taken Lanjar as an avowed enemy ever since he ordered registration of an FIR against a vehicle under the use of a lawyer.

The car had a police light, hooter and fancy number plate and the driver did not stop when policemen signaled for checking documents.

The legal fraternity, which has been up in arms against SSP Hyderabad Dr Farrukh Ali Lanjar, boycotted the courts and kept the cops out of the courts premises for the third day in a row on Saturday.

On the call of the Sindh High Court Bar Association Hyderabad and Hyderabad District Bar Association, similar boycotts were also observed in many other districts of Sindh. Hyderabad's lawyers had blocked Hyderabad Bypass road for two days earlier this month.
