A self-proclaimed 'plastic surgery influencer' who spent $11,000 on a rhinoplasty has shared how people’s behavior toward her changed after undergoing the procedure.

Devyn Aiken, 30, a paralegal based in Philadelphia, took to TikTok to discuss how her life has transformed since getting a nose job in November 2024.

The influencer said: "I thought I was a pretty girl. I didn't think I was ugly. You could ask anyone. They would think that I am very confident, very secure with who I was. I just thought I had a huge nose that I hated."

For most of her life, Aiken disliked her nose, particularly when it became more prominent during her tween and early teen years.

"I was bullied a lot, especially in middle school, and it was just from guys," she said. "They would call me all types of mean names like bird, Toucan Sam, so much mean stuff. I was like, 'Oh, my goodness. This is all they talk about — my nose. So if I change that, what can they talk about?'"

At 18, Aiken attended her first consultation for a nose job but soon realized she couldn’t afford the procedure.

"I had a deviated septum, but nothing where I would need to get the surgery. It was purely cosmetic. Insurance didn't pay. This was straight-up vanity," she added.

Over the years, she consulted with various surgeons in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

After multiple visits to plastic surgeons, she ultimately decided she wanted an ENT specialist to perform the surgery to minimize the risk of complications, such as empty nose syndrome, a condition where airflow in the nose is disrupted.

She eventually chose Dr. Mark Ginsburg, a board-certified plastic surgeon and ENT specialist.

Aiken explained to the doctor that she wanted her dorsal hump removed, her nostrils reduced in size, and the overall shape of her nose straightened.

Satisfied with his proposed plan, Aiken scheduled the surgery and underwent the procedure in late November.

She told PEOPLE: "I was a little nervous putting myself out there because I get nasty comments every day. Every time I log onto my social media, there's a disgusting comment."

"People just have a misconception that [with] plastic surgery, you're like this fake bimbo. You're making yourself into someone else. That's not the case. I'm just enhancing and improving myself."

Although she says it will take a full year for the swelling to subside completely, Aiken is already starting to notice the results.
