Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is considering retirement but has not made a final decision about his future, as he balances his NFL career with his high-profile relationship with pop-star Taylor Swift.

The 35-year-old, who has been with the Chiefs since 2013, is under contract for the 2025 season but says he will delay any decision until he is certain about what he wants to do.

His comments come after the Chiefs’ 40-22 Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, which denied them a historic third consecutive title.

"I'm kicking every can I can down the road. I'm not making any crazy decisions," Kelce said on the New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce. "I've been fortunate over the past five, six years I've played more football than anybody."

Kelce has played in multiple deep postseason runs, adding extra wear and tear to his body.

He holds the record for the most postseason receptions in NFL history and has won three Super Bowls with Kansas City.

His growing off-field profile has also been in the spotlight, especially with his relationship with Swift, who attended several Chiefs games this season, including the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

The singer’s presence has drawn significant media attention, and Kelce has spoken about the challenges of managing his career alongside his personal life.

"I think I owe it to my team-mates that if I do come back, it's going to be a whole-hearted decision," Kelce added. "Not half-assing it."

While Kelce has not committed to retirement, his future remains uncertain as he considers whether to return for another NFL season.
