Music producer Benny Blanco took an unconventional approach to Valentine’s Day, surprising his fiancée, Selena Gomez, with a bathtub filled with queso instead of the usual flowers.
The grand gesture, which he shared on Instagram, featured a trail of tortilla chips leading to a marble bathroom, where more chips on the floor spelled out “I [heart] YOU.” Beside them, the tub was filled with melted cheese.
Blanco, 36, captioned the video, “when your fiancé isn’t much of a flowers girl,” as he dipped a chip into the queso while his and Gomez’s new song “Scared of Loving You” played in the background. The lighthearted stunt coincided with the couple’s announcement of their upcoming joint album, I Said I Love You First.
Reactions to the extravagant display were mixed. While fans praised Blanco for knowing Gomez’s preferences, some questioned the practicality of the setup, with one commenter jokingly asking if he had “booked the plumber and housekeeper too.” Others, however, saw it as a playful and personal romantic gesture, with one fan calling it “the cutest relation-chip.”
Blanco and Gomez, who confirmed their relationship in December 2023, got engaged in late 2024 with a marquise diamond ring reportedly worth $250,000.
The couple has frequently showcased their shared love of food, with Blanco previously making fried pickles and ranch for Gomez on Valentine’s Day last year.
