Lily Allen has opened up about her decision to check into a treatment center amid emotional distress following her split from David Harbour.

Speaking on her BBC podcast Miss Me?, the 39-year-old Smile singer shared that she is now in a stronger place after intensive therapy.

“I just feel very grateful to have been given the time and space that I needed,” Allen said on the February 13 episode. “I went into a treatment center for a few weeks, did group and individual therapy, and focused on inner child healing.”

Allen and Stranger Things actor David Harbour, 49, married in 2020, but separated recently after four years. A source told PEOPLE that Allen was "devastated" by the split, which has been difficult for her and her daughters, Marnie Rose, 12, and Ethel Mary, 13.

On the podcast, Allen addressed rumors about her parenting, clarifying that she adores her children and sought treatment to be a stronger mother. “It was a tough decision to leave them for a few weeks, but ultimately, it was for them,” she explained.

Allen also revealed she had struggled with medication issues, describing how an antidepressant worsened her condition, making things “unmanageable.” She now believes she is on the right track.

While she acknowledges her mental health journey is ongoing, Allen said she feels “definitely in a stronger place” and is committed to healing.
