Arsenal fan and broadcaster Piers Morgan wasted no time in riling up Liverpool supporters after their 2-2 draw against Everton in the final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

Morgan, 59, took to X shortly after the match, posting a photo of Oliver with the caption: “My hero.”

His post came as Liverpool missed the chance to go nine points clear of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League, with Slot’s side now seven points ahead heading into gameweek 25.

Liverpool fans reacted strongly on social media. One commented: “For him to actually be your hero, he would have had to give a penalty to Everton when the crowd complained of a handball by Konate.”

Another wrote: “Corruption to keep Arsenal in the title race,” while a third added: “He’s always MOTM whenever he’s officiating.

James Tarkowski’s volley in the 98th minute sparked wild celebrations, with fans spilling onto the pitch. Moments later, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Curtis Jones were sent off after a heated exchange.

Referee Michael Oliver also dismissed Liverpool manager Arne Slot and assistant Sipke Hulshoff, adding to the chaos.
