LAHORE:

Police have arrested four brothers suspected of stealing luxury car tyres from outside homes in Model Town and Cantonment areas.

Addressing a press conference, SP Investigation Model Town Dr Ayaz Hussain stated that the suspects, identified as Fazil, Muhtashim, Ghazanfar and Ghulam Hussain, used a car to conduct nighttime thefts.

They used a jack to remove tyres along with alloy rims, and fled after placing the cars on bricks.

The police also arrested several tyre dealers from different cities who were purchasing the stolen items. A total of 39 stolen tyres were recovered from the gang, SP Ayaz added.

Investigations revealed that the suspects were selling stolen tyres online through various apps and also smuggling them to Quetta and Peshawar.

The official said the gang members had a history of robbery cases and were proclaimed offenders.
