US President Donald Trump took a jab at pop star Taylor Swift following the Kansas City Chiefs’ defeat in Super Bowl LIX. Trump, who attended the game, received loud cheers from the Superdome crowd when he appeared on screen during the national anthem, while Swift was met with boos when shown on the jumbotron.

Swift, attending to support her boyfriend, Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce, saw the team suffer a 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, her childhood favorite. Following the game, Trump mocked Swift and the Chiefs on his social media platform, Truth Social.

“The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!” Trump wrote, crediting his “Make America Great Again” supporters for the boos.

Trump’s remarks add to his ongoing feud with Swift, which intensified after she endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 election. In response, Trump expressed his disapproval of Swift, contrasting her with Brittany Mahomes, wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who has suggested support for Trump on social media.

Swift’s presence at Chiefs’ games has been a divisive topic among NFL fans. While many credited her for increasing interest in the sport, particularly among women, others found the frequent TV coverage of her attendance excessive.

Despite distancing herself from Brittany Mahomes at certain games, Swift maintained a cordial public relationship, joining Mahomes, Kelce, and Patrick Mahomes for dinner ahead of the Super Bowl.

Despite previously predicting a Chiefs victory and praising the Mahomes family, Trump did not hesitate to mock Swift and Kelce in his post.
