Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb Minister expressed the desire to work for a more robust relationship between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, in his talks with senior British officials in Lisbon, Portugal on Sunday.
According to Radio Pakistan, Aurangzeb held talks with Hamish Falconer, British Parliamentary Undersecretary of State for Middle East, Pakistan and Afghanistan, on "matters of mutual interest".
"Investment opportunities in Pakistan in energy, minerals, and infrastructure sectors" also came under discussion in the meeting.
Both sides lauded the role of the Pakistani diaspora in fostering the bilateral relationship.
Aurangzeb, who was visiting the Portugese capital to attend the funeral of the late Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, emphasised Pakistan and the UK enjoyed close and cordial relations marked by mutual trust and engagement.
On Saturday Aurangzeb attended the funeral of the late Prince Karim al-Hussaini Aga Khan IV, and met with Prince Rahim al-Hussaini Aga Khan V to convey condolences on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan.
