Some days back, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had rushed to meet JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in an apparent bid to win back his former ally who is now increasingly gravitating toward a budding political alliance of opposition parties.

During the meeting, Shehbaz offered Fazl a bouquet and newspapers published photos of the two beaming at the camera with wide smiles. However, despite these photo ops, the JUI-F chief has not even slightly changed his "fake parliament" narrative.

Since the February 8, 2024 general elections, Fazl has been saying that parliament established on the basis of the "highly rigged" polls has no legitimacy. On Sunday, he went a step further, saying that the "fake parliament will begin to tremble when angry public will take to the streets".

The JU-F chief while addressing a ceremony at a religious seminary in Mardan's Takht Bhai area lamented that the "fake parliament" tried its utmost to weaken seminaries and impose a ban on them at the behest of the United States and its agents.

Fazl, who was apparently referring to the refusal of the president to greenlight a bill related to registration of religious seminaries, claimed that there was an attempt on the part of some elements to empower Qadianis and to impose them once again on Pakistani people.

"But the JUI-F thwarted this conspiracy despite the fact that it has just eight members in the fake parliament. We ultimately managed to get the bill enacted, foiling the plans of Qadianis and their masters," he added.

Talking with reference to US President Donald Trump's statement with regard to the take-over of Gaza, he said Trump made the statement under the intoxication of power.

"While the world sees the US as a powerful nation, Trump is the biggest madman in the world. Palestine belongs to the Palestinians—past, present, and future."

He praised the Gulf states for rejecting the US proposal on Palestine, calling it a historic stance.

Fazl said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claims he will resettle Palestinians in Saudi Arabia.

"But unlike those who migrated from Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria, the Palestinians have remained steadfast despite relentless bombings on Gaza. Over 50,000 people have been martyred, yet the resistance fighters have not wavered.'

The JUI-F chief condemned illegal Jewish settlements and reaffirmed unwavering support for Palestine. He also asserted that Qadiani faith is a creation of the Jews, declaring that as long as he has strength, no force can impose Qadianism.
