A police constable was arrested for allegedly attempting to assault a woman and shooting a citizen who tried to intervene in the Manawan area.
According to police sources, Constable Amjad was caught harassing a woman while a local resident, Sajid, tried to stop him. In an attempt to flee, the officer opened fire, injuring Sajid in the leg.
The injured citizen was shifted to a hospital where his condition is stated to be stable. DIG Operations Faisal Kamran said an FIR has been registered against the official on the victim's complaint. "The suspect has been arrested and strict legal and departmental action will be taken," he stated, adding that internal proceedings against the officer had commenced.
