The family of a young man and the shopkeepers of the Saddar Mobile Market have staged a protest following the alleged police torture that led to the death of the young man at the Preedy Police Station.
Protesters raised slogans against the police and blocked traffic, causing long queues of vehicles. The protesters also demanded immediate legal action against the police officers and personnel involved in the incident.
The leaders of the Saddar Electronics Association strongly condemned the incident. The Sindh home minister took notice of the incident and sought a report from the DIG South.
According to details, the family and shopkeepers of the deceased, identified as Waqas, expressed their anger over the incident and demanded legal action against the police officers and personnel involved in the death of Waqas.
The shopkeepers warned that the protest would continue if immediate action was not taken. On Friday night, Waqas was leaving the market with his brother when their bike collided with the motorcycle of a Preedy Police Station official.
