Driver arrested in fatal Gulistan-e-Johar dumper crash

Police have arrested the dumper driver responsible for a fatal accident in Karachi's Gulistan-e-Johar area earlier this week.

The deadly mishap, which occurred on February 5th, involved a high-speed dumper that collided with three motorcycles and two cars near the Gulistan-e-Johar turn, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including a woman, according to Express News.

Following the crash, the dumper driver fled the scene, but police swiftly launched an investigation and arrested the accused.

According to the police, three individuals died at the scene of the accident. The driver, identified as Mawaz Khan, fled after the incident.

However, the Shahrah-e-Faisal police, utilizing modern technology, traced the driver and arrested him. A case has been registered at the Shahrah-e-Faisal police station, and further investigations are underway.

The police have stated that accidents due to reckless driving by heavy vehicles are on the rise in Karachi, and strict measures are being taken to control such incidents

Earlier, a dumper struck a motorcycle at Malir Halt, resulting in the deaths of a father and son, while the mother was injured. The driver responsible for the incident fled the scene, as reported by Express News.

According to the police, the husband, wife, and their son were critically injured and were being rushed to Jinnah Hospital.

Tragically, the father and son, identified as 38-year-old Saleem and 13-year-old Afaq, died from their injuries before reaching the hospital. The mother, 30-year-old Rubina, was admitted in critical condition.
