Lawyers' protests against the Hyderabad police continued for a second day, blocking traffic on the bypass road adjacent to Wadhu Wah Gate in Qasimabad.
Tents have been set up, and support from various political and religious parties has strengthened the protesting lawyers, who are demanding the removal of SSP Hyderabad, Dr. Farrukh Ali Lanjar.
Qaumi Awami Tehreek's President, Ayaz Latif Palijo, Sindh United Party's head, Syed Zain Shah, and others visited the protesting lawyers and assured them of their support.
Numerous lawyers from different cities across the Hyderabad division also joined the sit-in, which began on Thursday afternoon.
Trader unions in Hyderabad, the second-largest city in Sindh after Karachi, issued statements in favor of the lawyers' demands.
Lawyers from Mirpurkhas, Tando Allah Yar, Mehrabpur, and Jamshoro also organized protests and sit-ins, blocking various highways.
Chanting slogans against the police, the lawyers warned the government that their struggle would continue until the SSP was removed from his post.
Sources informed that the provincial government has contacted the lawyers for talks, but a deadlock remains over the issue of Lanjar's removal.
