DASKA:

A student was tortured by a government school teacher for not paying his tuition fee on time. The Sialkot EDO (Education) Dr Javaid Chishti has taken serious notice of the incident that occurred on Monday, when a 10th grade student was brutally beaten in class.

According to eyewitnesses, accused teacher Muhammad Afzal Mughal of Government Boys High School Daska beat 10th grader Muhammad Taqi in front of his class for not paying his school fee on time.  Afzal also tore the boy’s school uniform and stripped him before beating him with a stick.

Taqi’s father Muhammad Iqbal told reporters that they were very poor due to which they were unable to pay the Rs500 monthly tuition fees. “When we talked to the principal he said that the fee would be waived and when it was, the teacher beat up my son,” he said. The family has demanded that a case be registered against the teacher and that he be fired from his position. The family protested and has appealed to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Gujranwala commissioner Saeed Wahla and Sialkot DCO Mujahid Sher Dil to ensure that teachers using violence in school be disciplined.

I am not surprised this happened near Sialkot! Did we ever hear about what happened to the people (mob) who killed the two boys in Sialkot? If justice is not served to the accused in that case, how can you even think of anything happening to this school teacher? This country is on a moral decline and fast!
