Canadian YouTuber Josh, known online as Bowblax, is facing significant backlash following allegations of catfishing using images of bearded non-binary individuals sourced from Reddit.
These images were reportedly utilized on social media accounts under the alias 'Manshee' to deceive users for financial gain.
Reports indicate that Bowblax initially admitted ownership of the page before later denying any involvement, sparking widespread speculation and criticism.
The controversy deepened after YouTuber AidenProjects revealed that Bowblax had confided in them about financial struggles, including owing money to their parents for apartment expenses. This revelation has led many to believe that Bowblax may not be as financially independent as they claim, possibly explaining their alleged deceptive online behavior.
Following backlash, Bowblax has since scrubbed their 'Manshee' accounts without acknowledging the accusations. The situation has further raised ethical concerns, as Bowblax has recently thanked members of the H3 fan community for supporting their non-binary identity while allegedly exploiting non-binary individuals for personal and financial gain.
Bowblax is currently wiping his new Manshee accounts after it was found out he was catfishing as someone else from reddit. He did this on Twitter, and even more so on instagram where he stole even more photos. Some truly weird and sick stuff. Critics argue that this behavior not only constitutes deception but could also be linked to a deeper fetishization of certain identities. As scrutiny intensifies, many believe Bowblax needs to step away from social media and address their actions before their online presence spirals further out of control.
The ongoing scandal has left many questioning the authenticity of Bowblax’s online persona and their true intentions within the non-binary and influencer communities.
