During the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, horror fans got a first look at M3GAN 2.0, the sequel to Blumhouse’s 2023 box office smash. The teaser showed M3GAN executing new dance moves, this time set to Chappell Roan’s viral hit ‘Femininomenon’. The preview arrived shortly after Roan performed ‘Pink Pony Club’ live at the Grammys, creating a perfectly timed pop culture crossover.

The original M3GAN, starring Allison Williams and Violet McGraw, became a surprise hit, grossing $181 million worldwide on a $12 million budget. The film followed Cady (McGraw), an orphaned girl who bonds with her roboticist aunt Gemma’s (Williams) AI doll, M3GAN. Designed as the ultimate child companion, M3GAN soon turned lethal, attacking anyone who threatened Cady. Though she was seemingly defeated, the film’s ending teased her return—and now she’s officially back.

Set for release on June 27, 2025, M3GAN 2.0 brings back Williams and McGraw, with Blumhouse expanding the franchise further with a spinoff film, Soulm8te, arriving in 2026. Billed as an AI-driven erotic thriller, Soulm8te follows a man who purchases an android to cope with his wife’s death, only to accidentally create a deadly soulmate.

With M3GAN 2.0 already embracing its campy, meme-worthy energy, the sequel is poised to dominate pop culture once again.
