During the 2025 Grammy Awards, legendary singer and producer Babyface (Kenneth Edmonds) went viral after an awkward and disrespectful red carpet moment with Associated Press (AP) reporters Leslie Ambriz and Krysta Fauria.

In a now-viral clip, Babyface was answering a question when Fauria abruptly interrupted him to get the attention of Chappell Roan, who was walking by. Realizing they were more interested in Roan, Babyface ended the interview and walked away.

The incident sparked outrage online, with Dionne Warwick and Khloé Kardashian criticizing the lack of respect for the 13-time Grammy winner.

Dionne Warwick expressed her shock on X stating, "13x Grammy Award-winning Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds? Am I seeing this correctly?". Khloé Kardashian also chimed in on Instagram Stories saying, "This is so disrespectful… Babyface has had such a significant impact on the music industry. He is a pioneer and deserves so much better than this."

Following the backlash, Fauria issued an apology stating, "I wanted to say that I’m really sorry about interrupting Babyface earlier… There was a lot of commotion on the carpet, but I’m a big Babyface fan, as are we all. I really apologize."

Despite the apology, fans and industry figures continue to call for more respect for music legends on red carpets.
