Chiara Ferragni demands €1.1 million from Fabrizio Corona for defamation

Chiara Ferragni takes legal action against Fabrizio Corona, demanding €1.1 million for defamation

Italian influencer Chiara Ferragni has taken legal action against journalist and former paparazzi king Fabrizio Corona, demanding over €1.1 million in damages for alleged defamation. The dispute follows Corona’s recent claims about Ferragni’s marriage to rapper Fedez, which he made public in his show Falsissimo.

Ferragni’s lawyer, Giuseppe Iannaccone, sent a cease-and-desist letter to Corona, urging him to remove all defamatory content and refrain from making further public statements about Ferragni. The letter, which Corona later published on social media, accuses him of making unfounded claims about Ferragni’s alleged infidelity and personal conduct.

Ferragni’s legal team argues that Corona not only made defamatory statements but also violated a prior agreement. The legal notice references a private agreement dated September 15, 2023, in which Corona had committed to refraining from making offensive, defamatory, or disparaging remarks about Ferragni and Fedez for ten years. However, according to Ferragni’s lawyers, Corona has repeatedly violated this agreement since early 2024, causing significant harm to Ferragni during a sensitive period in her life.

In response, Ferragni is demanding a payment of €1.1 million within seven days, warning that failure to comply will result in legal proceedings. She has also insisted that Corona remove the content in question and cease any further defamatory actions.

Corona, however, remains defiant. Sharing the letter on social media, he criticized Ferragni’s demand, stating, “To demand privacy, one must have it first. Ferragni has put her entire private life on display for profit. Now she is offended because the truth is being told?” He further declared that legal threats would not silence him, announcing that the next episode of Falsissimo would be released on February 10.

With Ferragni pursuing legal action and Corona refusing to retract his statements, the controversy shows no signs of cooling down.
