Actress Lily Collins has officially stepped into motherhood, welcoming her first child, Tove Jane McDowell, via surrogate earlier this week in Northern California.
The Emily in Paris star shared the joyous news on Instagram, posting a heartfelt message alongside a photo of her newborn wrapped in a white blanket embroidered with her name in gold letters.
Collins expressed her gratitude in the caption, writing, "Welcome to the center of our world, Tove Jane McDowell. Words will never express our endless gratitude for our incredible surrogate and everyone who helped us along the way. We love you to the moon and back again..."
Lily Collins, the daughter of legendary musician Phil Collins, has been married to director Charlie McDowell since 2021. McDowell, son of actors Malcolm McDowell and Mary Steenburgen, and stepson of sitcom star Ted Danson, has previously hinted at their plans to start a family.
Sources reveal that Mary Steenburgen and Ted Danson were seen visiting the newborn at the hospital shortly after birth. Collins and McDowell are said to be overjoyed as they embark on their parenting journey.
While the couple kept the pregnancy private, McDowell subtly hinted at their family expansion in an October interview with E! News. Now, with baby Tove’s arrival, the couple is embracing their new chapter.
