Netflix has officially ordered two seasons of John Mulaney’s upcoming live talk show, Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney, which is set to premiere on March 12.
The first season will air for 12 weeks, continuing the eccentric style of Mulaney’s Live From L.A. special from 2024.
Speaking at a Netflix event, Mulaney outlined his vision for the show, emphasizing its unpredictability. “We will be live globally with no delay. We will never be relevant. We will never be your source of news. We will always be reckless,” he stated. The show promises an eclectic mix of guests, including celebrities and experts, combined with a comedic, freewheeling format.
Richard Kind will return as Mulaney’s sidekick and announcer, alongside the food delivery robot Saymo. However, Mulaney joked that they are still trying to locate Saymo, humorously adding, “We just keep ordering Shastas and ginger ales and hoping that he’ll roll up.”
Reflecting on his previous Everybody’s In L.A. show, Mulaney recalled the unique guest lineup, including experts on palm trees, earthquakes, and coyotes. He acknowledged that while the show’s concept isn’t entirely new, its structure and approach make it feel fresh.
The new show comes as Netflix moves away from traditional talk shows, making Mulaney’s project a unique addition to the platform’s lineup.
