More than three decades after When Harry Met Sally became a rom-com classic, Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal have reunited for a nostalgic Super Bowl commercial.

The ad, created for Hellmann’s mayonnaise, brings the duo back to the iconic Katz’s Deli, the setting of the film’s legendary “I’ll have what she’s having” scene.

This time, however, the ad features a fresh twist. Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney joins Ryan and Crystal, adding a new dynamic to the beloved moment. The 30-second spot captures Ryan’s Sally enthusiastically enjoying a turkey sandwich with mayo, while Crystal’s Harry watches in amusement—mirroring the famous scene from the 1989 film.

“It smells exactly like it did 36 years ago when we made it,” Crystal recalled, reminiscing about returning to Katz’s Deli. “It was so much fun to be out there at the same table.”

Sweeney steps in to deliver the classic punchline originally spoken by director Rob Reiner’s mother, Estelle. Excited to be part of the moment, Sweeney called working with Ryan and Crystal “an honor,” describing When Harry Met Sally as “a rom-com classic.” Ryan also praised Sweeney, saying, “She is game and funny. Has terrific ideas. Not intimidated—respectful, silly, and adorable.”

The ad also evoked memories for Ryan of her late co-star Carrie Fisher, who played Sally’s best friend, Marie, in the original film. Reflecting on their friendship, Ryan shared, “I had a long friendship with Carrie. We were pregnant at the same time.”

Despite the enduring love for When Harry Met Sally, Crystal remains firm that a sequel is unnecessary. “We felt, why? They worked so hard for 12 years to get to happily ever after that that’s where they should be,” he said. “To me, they’re still together.”

With this Super Bowl commercial, fans get a taste of the timeless charm of When Harry Met Sally, proving that Harry and Sally’s story still resonates—even with a little mayo and a laugh.
