Maryam Nawaz sets deadline for Rawalpindi Ring Road completion

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has assured the provision of necessary funds for the Rawalpindi Ring Road project and set a firm deadline for its completion. During an unexpected visit to the project site, she directed the extension of the project's scope.

The CM instructed the authorities to complete the Rawalpindi Ring Road project by December and conducted an aerial review of the site to monitor progress.

Upon her arrival at the Khushalgarh Rawalpindi Ring Road camp office, Rawalpindi Commissioner Amir Khattak briefed CM Maryam on the details of the project.

Maryam highlighted the significance of the 38-kilometre-long Rawalpindi Ring Road, stating that its completion would resolve the city's long-standing traffic issues and provide a boost to economic and business activities.

She highlighted that the road would bring greater convenience to millions of commuters and reiterated that the necessary funding for the project would be ensured.

The briefing also revealed that five interchanges will be constructed at Banth, Chak Beli Khan, Adiala Road, Chakri Road, and Thalian, along with a railway bridge, five overpasses, and 21 subways, all part of the project to improve traffic flow and infrastructure.
