Rachael Kirkconnell shuts down infidelity rumors in breakup with Matt James

Rachael Kirkconnell has spoken out about her surprising breakup with Season 25 Bachelor star Matt James.  

In a video recorded by Lion's Share News and later shared by TMZ on Tuesday, Kirkconnell was seen heading up an escalator toward TSA screening at LAX when she briefly addressed the situation, saying she was "hanging in there."  

"You know, it's nothing that you can prepare for," she said about the split. "So you just take it one day at a time. I think things will start to come out and I'll speak about it whenever I'm ready. But now I'm just protecting my peace."  

When questioned about possible infidelity in the relationship, the 28-year-old denied it, stating, "No, not at all."  

Regarding the possibility of rekindling things with James, Kirkconnell was firm in her response. "No. Yeah, we're out. We're done," she said.  

On January 16, James shocked fans by announcing their breakup in an Instagram post, as many had believed the couple was still going strong based on their social media activity. Just hours before the announcement, he had shared a video of them enjoying a meal at a pizza restaurant in London.  

"Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts. Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding," he captioned a photo of their first meeting on *The Bachelor's* 2021 premiere. "Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord."  

Neither Kirkconnell nor James' representatives have responded to media inquiries, and Kirkconnell has not released her own statement on social media.
