Fans of Duck Dynasty are celebrating as A&E has officially greenlit a revival of the hit series. Titled Duck Dynasty: The Revival, the new show is set to debut this summer and will feature 20 episodes across two seasons. Returning cast members include Willie and Korie Robertson, their children, and grandchildren, as the show once again focuses on their lives in Louisiana.
A major highlight for fans is the return of Uncle Si, who was confirmed to participate despite past health concerns. Korie Robertson assured listeners on her Whoa That’s Good podcast that Uncle Si will be part of the series, saying, “So much has changed. We’ve got a lot to catch people up on.” Fans were initially worried after a video in May showed him on oxygen, but his return has been welcomed with excitement.
However, the revival comes with a bittersweet note, as family patriarch Phil Robertson will not be appearing in the series.
It was revealed last year on the Unashamed with the Robertson Family podcast that Phil is battling Alzheimer’s and an incurable blood disease. Jase Robertson shared that Phil’s health has been declining for years and that medical teams agree there is no cure for his condition.
Duck Dynasty originally aired on A&E from 2012 to 2017, running for 11 successful seasons and gaining a massive fan following. The show chronicled the lives of the Robertson family and their business, Duck Commander, which manufactures duck calls and other hunting products.
The revival promises to bring fans back into the Robertson family’s world, offering updates on their lives while honoring the legacy of the original series. Despite Phil Robertson’s absence, anticipation remains high for the show’s summer debut.
