One killed in Khuzdar bus blast

At least one person lost his life and seven others sustained injuries on Sunday in an explosion targeting a passenger bus travelling from Khuzdar to Rawalpindi, according to officials.

Khuzdar Deputy Commissioner Yasir Iqbal Dashti reported that the bus, heading along the M-8 Highway, was struck near Khori, approximately 25 kilometres from Khuzdar City.

The injured, including the bus conductor who is in critical condition, were promptly shifted to the Khuzdar Trauma Centre for treatment.

Preliminary investigations revealed that an improvised explosive device (IED) was planted inside a car parked near the highway. Following the incident, law enforcement, including police and Frontier Corps personnel, cordoned off the area to begin their inquiry.

Security measures were intensified throughout Khuzdar and its surroundings in response to the attack, officials added.
