Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Information Advisor Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif and senior politician Muhammad Ali Durrani have met former Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Sirajul Haq in Islamabad.
Barrister Saif invited Haq to attend a consultative meeting called by K-P Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to discuss the issue of lasting peace in the province.
On the occasion, Sirajul Haq said that JI was ready to render all kinds of cooperation for the establishment of peace in K-P and that, if there was a need to hold a thousand jirgas for peace, his party would cooperate and play its role to that end.
He also stressed that deterioration in Pak-Afghan relations would cause the greatest harm to K-P, and that peace in the province was the responsibility of all stakeholders, including the federal and provincial governments, and the establishment.
He further said there should be no politics on unrest, terrorism and dead bodies, adding that, in the past, the province had suffered the most due to unrest and terrorism.
"If the rule of law is established in the country, peace will automatically come," he observed.
On Friday, on the directive of PTI founder Imran Khan, Saif had also met JI leaders Liaqat Baloch and Amirul Azeem.
