The Supreme Court of Pakistan will announce its verdict on the contempt of court case against Additional Registrar tomorrow.

The decision, reserved by a two-member bench comprising Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Aqeel Abbasi, pertains to alleged violations involving the scheduling of bench powers cases.

Previous Thursday, the Supreme Court concluded hearings in the bench powers case, with Justice Mansoor Ali Shah remarking that prima facie, a two-member judicial committee had overlooked a judicial order.

While the court acknowledged it could issue contempt notices, it refrained from doing so.

The contempt proceedings stemmed from an intra-court appeal where the Additional Registrar alleged that dates for hearings were altered in official orders.

Initially scheduled for January 27, the hearing date was reportedly moved to January 16, during which a judge recused himself from the bench.

The Additional Registrar, in his appeal, argued that he was made a scapegoat, citing procedural violations such as the lack of an opportunity to explain his position prior to the issuance of the show-cause notice.

He called for the notice to be declared null and void, asserting that the principles of natural justice were not upheld.
