Investigation in-charge Sahianwala and an ASI of the Legal Branch have been booked for their alleged involvement in a bribery scandal.
They were accused of accepting a bribe in exchange for documents and arrest of an accused.
The City Police Officer (CPO) suspended both officers and assigned the SP Medina Town to lead the inquiry as inquiry officer.
The incident came to light after a video of the investigation in-charge accepting the bribe went viral on social media, prompting the authorities to take action.
SHO Sahianwala Sub-Inspector Afzal reported in the FIR that Investigation In-charge Inspector Imtiaz Ahmed allegedly blackmailed the family members of accused Atif Fareed, a resident of 146 Rabb, for his arrest in a double murder case.
Imtiaz Ahmed also received a bribe through Habibullah, which was posted in the legal branch. When a video of the incident went viral on social media, CPO Faisalabad DIG Kamran Adil took swift action.
Inspector Ahmed and ASI Habibullah were suspended, and a case was registered against them under Section 155C of the Police Order 2002.
Meanwhile, three police employees, including the in-charge of an outpost, Rahme Shah, were suspended for exceeding their authority.
CPO DIG Kamran Adil had received information that the in-charge of the outpost Rahme Shah, ASI Humayun Akhtar Shah, had kept a private person for special work (Bator khas) despite repeated requests from the officers.
