PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry has stated that every clause of the 14-point agreement reached in Kohat regarding the Kurram district will be implemented in letter and spirit, with no concessions given to anyone. However, he added that everyone's cooperation will be essential to achieve this.

Chaudhry, while ordering the resumption of bunker demolitions, said one side has already submitted its weapons collection plan, while the other side's plan is still awaited and should be submitted at the earliest.

He expressed these views while addressing a joint session of the Grand Jirga, peace committee members and elders of Kurram district at the Commissioner House in Kohat on Saturday.

On this occasion, GOC 9 Div Major General Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, Commissioner Kohat Syed Motasim Billah Shah, former parliamentarians, members of the Grand Jirga and elders also spoke. Inspector General of Police Akhtar Hayat Khan, DIG Kohat Abbas Majeed Marwat, Deputy Commissioner Kurram Muhammad Ashfaq, Deputy Commissioner Kohat Abdul Akram and other relevant officers were also present.

The Kohat commissioner highlighted the measures taken for the establishment of permanent peace in the Kurram district. The chief secretary stated that the provincial government is ready to go to any extent to establish peace in Kurram. However, he urged local elders to identify and eliminate the cruel and evil elements rather than supporting them.
