Display of weapons banned in Peshawar

A ban has been imposed on the display of weapons under Section 144 in order to maintain law and order in the provincial capital, Peshawar.

According to a notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, a complete ban has been imposed on the display of weapons across the district for five days, and the ongoing campaign against weapons has been further intensified.

In order to maintain law and order in the city, a blanket ban will be imposed on the display of weapons on any occasion, including weddings and other ceremonies.

It has further been stated in the notification that special orders have been issued to all divisional SPs, SDPOs, SHOs and outpost in-charges.

This step has been taken to prevent the movement of militants and terrorists in the city, and action will be taken against those violating this ban.

Recently, at least 23 Tik Tokers were arrested as Peshawar police launched a campaign to curb the display of weapons on social media.
