Prominent Bollywood figures, including comedian Kapil Sharma, actor Rajpal Yadav, and choreographer Remo D’Souza, have reportedly received death threats in a chilling follow-up to previous warnings targeting Salman Khan, Indian media reported on Thursday
Indian police have launched an investigation following multiple complaints.
The threats, allegedly sent via email by an individual identified as “Vishnu,” claim the celebrities are under surveillance and face severe consequences if unspecified demands are not met within eight hours.
Details of the demands remain undisclosed.
Rajpal Yadav’s wife first lodged a formal complaint with the police, prompting the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against an unidentified suspect.
Similarly, Sharma and D’Souza have also filed complaints, leading to intensified investigations.
According to police sources, this incident is part of a disturbing trend of threats aimed at Bollywood stars.
Last year, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan also received similar warnings. The attacks have sparked fresh concerns about the safety of celebrities in India’s entertainment industry.
In October 2024, Baba Siddique, a close associate of Salman Khan, was shot near his residence.
More recently, actor Saif Ali Khan survived a lethal attack that left him injured.
Authorities have yet to comment on whether these incidents are connected or part of a larger pattern.
However, the repeated threats highlight the need for enhanced security measures for Bollywood personalities.
Saif Ali Khan returns home
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday after suffering severe injuries during a stabbing attack at his Bandra residence last Thursday.
Khan's home was illuminated in celebration upon his return. According to India Today, Khan and his wife, actor Kareena Kapoor, plan to reward their domestic helper, Eliyamma Philip, for her extraordinary courage during the terrifying home invasion.
Many of Khan's fans and peers have been expressing deep regrets since the time this incident came to light. Indian actor Shatrughan Sinha penned a note of concern on X (formerly Twitter) in support of Khan.
