On January 22, 2025, 17-year-old Solomon Henderson carried out a fatal school shooting at Antioch High School, killing one classmate, wounding another, and taking his own life.

Henderson left behind a disturbing manifesto, shedding light on his motives and state of mind leading up to the attack.

Authorities confirmed that Henderson uploaded the manifesto to his Instagram account prior to the shooting. The document featured a chilling FAQ-style section where he addressed potential questions, revealing deeply troubling statements about his motivations. Phrases like “For your enjoyment” and references to racial and hateful language underscored the manifesto’s dark and alarming nature.

The incident unfolded in the school cafeteria at approximately 11 a.m. Henderson fatally shot 16-year-old Josselin Corea Escalante and grazed the arm of a male student, who survived. Shortly after, Henderson turned the weapon on himself.

The shooter also live-streamed the attack on the streaming platform Kick, amplifying the tragedy’s reach. While the video and manifesto were quickly removed from the internet, they had already spread widely, prompting questions about online platforms’ role in monitoring harmful content.

Police are continuing their investigation into Henderson’s background and motives. His classmates described him as quiet and academically accomplished, with no prior warning signs of violent behavior.

This tragedy marks another devastating school shooting in Nashville, following the 2023 Covenant School attack. The incident has reignited debates about gun control, school safety, and mental health interventions in Tennessee and nationwide.
