Trump and Melania attend tea with Bidens at White House ahead of inauguration ceremony

President-elect Donald Trump and incoming First Lady Melania Trump are currently at the White House, having tea with President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden.

This private meeting is part of the traditional transition of power ahead of Trump's official inauguration later today. The tea marks a significant and symbolic gesture of unity between the outgoing and incoming administrations before Trump heads to the Capitol for his swearing-in ceremony.

Earlier this morning, the Trumps attended a prayer service at St. John’s Episcopal Church. The service was attended by several prominent figures, including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew. Also in attendance were Argentine President Javier Milei and former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, according to Bloomberg.

Trump’s inauguration schedule continues with official guests arriving at the Capitol Rotunda at 10 AM for the ceremony. At noon, Trump will be sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts as the 47th president. In the afternoon, Trump will review the troops and proceed to Capital One Arena for the indoor parade. Tonight, Trump will attend three inaugural balls, delivering speeches at each event.
